My guest today on adultsitebroker talk is Dan Malachi of Flynnbow. Dan thanks for being with us on adultsitebroker talk. Thank you very much Bruce for having me. It’s a pleasure to meet you. It’s great to have you. Dan was born in Barcelona and has worked in the US and UK. So he brings a global perspective to his role as co-founder and digital strategy lead at Flynnbow. With a background in sales strategy and product development, Dan has worked on various successful ventures helping companies understand how to connect with customers and monetize their offerings. In 2023, Dan co-founded Flynnbow, the first platform to introduce erotic play. An interactive gamified way to experience adult content. Flynnbow merges the best features from popular platforms like TikTok and Instagram, providing users with a continuous feed of short form videos that can be unlocked using Flynnbow coins. This internal currency system creates a smooth and enjoyable experience allowing users to explore content based on their interests. Dan’s expertise in gamification stems from his experience as an experienced gamer, which has been critical in shaping Flynnbow’s user experience. His vision is to create a platform where content discovery is intuitive, fun and easy while offering creators a reliable way to earn passive income. Dan’s commitment to high quality content and a professional, transparent user experience has made Flynnbow one of the most exciting new platforms in the adult industry. Flynnbow enables creators to sell video bundles directly in the feed with a simple one-click purchase. Flynnbow prioritizes content over distractions, delivering a seamless, fun and interactive experience. Flynnbow focuses on high quality content, niche content, as particularly in role play and fetish categories, allowing creators to connect directly with fans who value unique, specialized content. So Dan, how’d you like your commercial? Very well, actually, Bruce. No need for more. Like I said, I feel like the king of England now. Even I do not want to be him. Thank you for that. Yes, indeed. Okay, or the prince. Okay. Or the prince. So how is Flynnbow different from other content platforms? Okay, so with Flynnbow and like other platforms, it uses a paper content model. It has an infinite scroll feed and it mostly focuses on discoverability, like if it’s the type of niche or the creator itself, without the heavy creator engagement unlike other platforms. Okay. Yeah, I mean, if you’re on like, for instance, only fans, your chances of getting discovered are pretty slim, right? Correct, depending again on the kind of niche you’re focused on, on what the user likes, on the kind of niche he’s searching for, if it’s only engaging, if it’s buying the content, correct, you’re right. Yeah, so you guys have a cure for that, right? Correct. So what we do is, especially with the infinite scroll feed, the user itself can just engage with the content that he wants. You can just infinitely scroll until he finds something that’s in his category and simply engage with that. That makes much more for a simpler user experience and the creator experience on the same side. Okay. Tell me about erotic play. How does it redefine content consumption? That’s one of my favorite questions actually. So erotic play is really like a Flynnbow’s concept of gamifying the content consumption. I’ll explain. It basically gives the users to explore in an interactive way, categorized way, and you’ve got a thing called actions. So what you would do is if a user has found the creator that he likes, you’ve got the option to purchase the whole bundle, which would be a set of actions. If you prefer just a simple action, whether it’s showing your chest, showing your buttocks, showing your feet, your hands, it doesn’t matter. You can purchase that specific content. You can swear here, by the way. You can say tits and ass and cunt and what I mean. It makes it way easier for me to be honest. Yes. Tits, ass, cunt. Yeah. You can use all the words that George Carlin said you couldn’t say on TV. Fuck it then. I don’t know if you ever saw that routine, but it was hilarious. I actually haven’t. Oh, yeah, you’re young. Go to YouTube and search it. George Carlin words you can’t say on TV and it’s just amazing. George Carlin the words you can’t say on TV already like the caption. Yeah, no, it is very, very, very good. He was the greatest. How is Flimbo more accessible and simple for users and creators? So on the interface of Flimbo on the platform itself, we have an icon-based navigation and direct purchases which eliminate complexity and it makes again easier for global users and creators. It’s just a simpler system of the one-click payment. You do not have to again constantly engage. You don’t have to be on top of it. You can just purchase what you want and that’s yours forever. Hmm. Okay. How does that differ from some of the other platforms? Well, unlike other platforms that you have to be constantly posting original content, OC content, you have to be up to date and on Flimbo specifically, if you’re going to post a bundle, which would be a whole game at this point. So what you do is you just post the bundle, separate it through actions and you can just win the money, passive income and constantly and constantly without the need of engagement with the user. And unlike a lot of other platforms, you don’t require subscriptions, right? Correct. We do not require subscriptions. So how does that change the user experience? Again, like with every user, it has its likes and dislikes. So if a user simply prefers a fetish role of cosplay or SG or Suicide Girls or BDSM or whatever it is, you can just again simply purchase that content without the need for engagement. And after you’ve purchased that content, it’s the minimum kind of engagement you’d get with the creator because it’s your content to have. Fantastic. They don’t have to keep paying month after month to see the content. Yeah. Exactly. They purchase a whole bundle and that’s yours forever. So it’s not a constant subscription. It’s a one-time payment. And they download it. It stays on your library exactly and that’s just there’s forever. Kind of a download, exactly. How do you see the evolution of consumer habits in the adult content industry regarding technology? Personally, the adult industry itself is progressing and advancing the speed that we cannot fathom. It’s like hard to keep track of everything. Like anything with technology nowadays, just hard to keep in track. So here at Flimbo, it plans to integrate ARVR to create immersive future forward content experiences, which is what we’re currently working on. And the rest is going to have two ways, sadly. Okay. Is your partner in this the tech person? More. Correct. I’m the Speaks. He’s a tech. Okay. Exactly. I can barely tell the difference with Windows and Mac, if I’m honest. No, I’m not that bad. I’m one of that. Where do you think things are going in the industry with AI? Scary question, actually. AI, like we all know, artificial intelligence, it says it in the name. It’s kind of hard to rely a bit on AI in adult content consumption, in my opinion, because like we said, the future, the present of adult content consumption keeps on changing. It keeps advancing. It keeps variating, which is, if it’s, I don’t know, feet all of a sudden, people are selling hairs all of a sudden, people are selling their toenails all of a sudden. So it’s constantly developing and it’s constantly keeping up to date. So personally, we cannot know where it’s going to be for the next five years, especially with technology, in my opinion, and AI. Yeah, I wonder where it’s going to be in the next five minutes, let alone five hours. I mean, it’s moving fast. It’s a good kind of scare, it’s a good kind of scare, in my opinion, but we have to keep up to date on it and not completely rely on AI, which is what most people do in any industry whatsoever. Got it. So how important is content personalization for your users and what strategies does your platform use to achieve this? Great. So on Flimbo, content personalization for us is a key, key factor. Like I said earlier, Flimbo, it uses actions and according to the action that you search, the algorithms, they deliver the personalized recommendations to that Flimbo offers. For example, if you’re an arse person or a boo person, you most likely will get on your search content with us. If you’re more of a boo person, you’ll likely get recommended content with boobs. Okay. So you want to expand on that at all? Basically, the thing is, if you’re a boo person and you’ve got all these creators on Flimbo, the keyword of searching boob is going to keep showing you boobs and keep showing you boobs. But according to the algorithm, your search is doing. It’s a simpler way for the users to get their content they’re looking for. It doesn’t sound undesirable at all. Boobs, there you go. Who doesn’t like boobs, right, Breeze? I certainly do. Big and round. They’re always there. What am I doing in Asia, right? Come on. Actually, I love Asia when I travel there. I’ve got to say, yeah, I’ve been Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos. I was in Thailand as well, north of Thailand. I’ve been Hong Kong. I absolutely enjoy the earth. Well, do you have to get together when you make it out here for sure? If I’m ever Thailand, Bruce, you’re the first person I’m going to visit. Yeah, I appreciate that. So privacy is a huge concern in the industry. And obviously, we’ve had our share of data leaks and all kinds of bad stuff happening. How does Flinbo address these concerns? It ensures privacy with anonymized profiles. Every profile, whether it’s a user, whether it’s a creator, obviously the information is completely, completely private. We collect minimum data from every registered user or creator, whether it’s the personal details about them. And we also ensure the privacy with encryption mostly. So it’s completely safe to use and no much information required from the user or the creator, which is a plus side for us. Is there like any kind of organized community for the users on Flinbo? Between themselves, we have our social media, which would be our Reddit profiles. We have our Instagram social media. We have our Twitter profiles. We have our TikTok social media. And that’s where mostly we make the noise if there’s a new game, if there’s a new creator, if there’s a giveaway, if there’s a handout or whatever, they’ll normally come and follow us on our social media. So you’re into gaming. What was the road like going from being into gaming and working in the adult industry to starting Flinbo? Talk a little bit about the whole journey. So I personally met this creator. She was on another platform. She was a content creator for another platform at the time. And funny enough, we just got to talk casually. And a lot of her disturbing experiences was mostly the constant engagement with the user. She would get a lot of like, well, nothing that no content creator does know, a lot of unnecessary messages, unnecessary pictures, unnecessary comments, things that most women or men, if you’re a content creator, a lot of them can’t stand it. A lot of them don’t know how to absorb it. A lot of them don’t know how to affect it. So here at Flinbo, we basically took that wheel and we kind of made it a bit better. On Flinbo, unlike other platforms, you don’t have that constant engagement. You do not have that constant user that wants this, that wants your life. That wants to marry you, wants to buy this and all that. So with my mentality of the gaming itself, a lot of ideas, I don’t know, whether we’re really, it’s battle pass or even certain buttons to press out at a certain time or even shooting games that helped me figure out a few things on like Flinbo platform itself. So I just kind of took all of my experience with that and slowly translated it to my way. So it’s more of a gaming and adult content consumption for the user. Interesting. Talk about the journey of building out Flinbo from beginning to end. It was always an interest of me, like the adult industry itself. Like I was a user myself, you know, who isn’t correct. I’m not fair enough. Well, when you’re in it, you don’t need to be doing it. No, or when or when you live in Thailand. Yeah, or when you live in Thailand. Correct. You’re never alone there. Basically, anything that’s to do with the unknown or the no limit department or the hard work or whatever it is, that’s completely for me. So I just took a turn from sales, which has always been a part of me into the other industry, met the people I had to meet and we just slowly built it up from there really. OK, very good. Where is the fan platform industry today and where do you see it going? You’re talking about the users, correct Bruce? I don’t fully understand that question, sorry. The users, the creators from only fans to fans Lee to Flinbo talk about the state of the fan industry and where you see it going. It’s actually like the whole industry is crazy. Like if we’re talking about the fan base area last year, the other day, we were doing a bit of statistics. Like, do you know how much only fans did last year? 6.6 billion dollars. Leo, bless your heart. Oh my God, doesn’t that sound like music and opera to you, Bruce? He’s a he’s a client. I couldn’t be happier for it. Now, honestly, like the thing what they’ve done with the whole content creation, normalizing content creation is absolutely ridiculous. Like it’s it’s a simple revolution and that’s what we’re all headed to. So where do I see it in five, ten years time with no limit whatsoever, way more normalized. And I think people will enjoy it more and instead of focusing on the taboos, which is what sex work or content creation is at the end of the day. We have a lot of people that still look at it wrong and it is an issue. So I see that really much advancing, especially mentally wise. People will be way more open to it and they already are. They’re slowly like getting into the idea itself and it’s it’s almost like as normal as brushing your teeth nowadays. Well, but even with all the anti porn bullshit out there, you still see it improving. Definitely. There’s always going to be some little group that’s anti something. Like if someone says tomorrow you can’t drink water, people are going to drink water. Do you know what I mean? So I think there’s always going to be that little challenge of people not being in favor of the world. But that’s what makes us big, though. Imagine that everyone was in favor for it. Wouldn’t really be fun, would it, Bruce? So that’s it keeps it spicy at a certain level and it keeps content creators motivated in order to do more and normalize it and carry on working because it is a job at the end of the day. You are an optimist. I believe in it. I do too. How does your platform handle payments to creators and what options do they have for withdrawals? We have a very simple payout method. Every creator on their profile has a wallet part in the wallet. You’ve got three options of payout, which would be wire transfer. We use a platform called Paxum, which is also I’m sure you’ve heard of it before. It’s a platform for payouts on adult content consumption. They work with most of the platforms or we do via sepa as well. So that’s three ways to pay out your money and it’s a minimum payout of $20 per account. That’s low. Yeah, it’s not that. If anyone needs money, anyone can get it. They can set their own minimums. Correct. They can set their own minimums. They set their own prices. They set everything they need. What else do the creators have in their control panel? So the creators can control basically all of the content and mostly where it’s seen. For example, if you, Bruce, when you’re a creator on flimbo and you want to like post your content, hey man, hey man, I want you to succeed. I don’t want you guys to get sunk. Bruce, there’s a dish for everyone. Oh God. No, I’m joking. Any creator can basically block the country that they’re on. For example, if you, Bruce, you’re from the US or you’re from Mexico or you’re from the Philippines and you don’t want the people in your area or your country or your city to look at your content, you can certainly block the country. I see. Okay. Any other controls on there? Well, you can control your content. You control your pricing. You control the amount of actions you have on your bundle. It’s mostly like an own dashboard for your own content. Okay. And how does flimbo drive traffic to creators profiles? So nowadays, as we all know, social media is a bitch, a massive conniving bitch, especially with content posting. I mean, if it’s Instagram, I fucking hate Instagram. If it’s Twitter, if it’s TikTok, we work a lot on Reddit as well. So what we do is apart from our marketing campaigns, which we mostly based on UK, US, Canada, Central America, we also cross share the post. For example, we’ll post on our social media, if it’s a post of certain creator, she will cross share it. And that way we don’t get it taken down by Instagram or any rules that they keep inventing because every day it’s like a new battle for us. So that’s mostly how we drive our traffic internally. We’re cross sharing with the creator as well. Very good. Yeah, the creators definitely have to take part for it to work well, right? Well, if they’re content creators and they know the industry, they know it’s part of the job. But it’s like, well, why, how do you know you like that new Nike shirt? You’ve seen it somewhere. Do you know what I mean? So it’s kind of the same. Yeah. How does your platform ensure its quality and safety? So we have a very, very, very strict moderation process. If a new creator, a registered signup as a creator wants to post their new game, divide it into actions, we have a moderation process, which basically ensures the quality of the filming, if it’s the lighting, if it’s whatever it is, it’s very, very important for us, especially the quality of the image and the lighting. We also take very seriously if there’s no illegal objects in the background, if there’s no minor objects in the background, if it’s baby toys, if it’s out in the public, if there’s people in the scene, if there’s more than mascots or whatever, we take that very, very seriously and that’s how we control our quality and safety. The watermarking, controlling all the TikTok filters, all of that. So it’s a bit of hard work, but it’s definitely a key part of us. We take it very seriously. I would imagine like pets too, right? Oh yeah, for sure. You’d be surprised Bruce, like people will be preparing content with their dog in the background, you know what I mean? So, and I’m not there yet. So yeah, exactly. It’s ridiculous, but fair enough. That’s why there’s a moderation process. Yeah, yeah. They have to learn somehow. Do you find most of the creators are pretty wise about this stuff? They actually are. Like I said earlier, it’s a job for them. So they take it very seriously, whether it’s the minimum stuff of keeping the background clean or cleaning the lens of the camera or the lighting or they take it very seriously. We don’t normally run into a lot of issues with quality or anything like that. They know what they’re doing. Do you guys offer like any training or anything? We do. We have a creator’s guide that we send if needed. We contact the creator. We give them a first assistance. We have a personal contact for the creators. Yeah. We have a 24/7 WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, whatever you need. We’re a 24/7 service basically for any customer service, user, creator, whatever they need. So anytime either a creator or a user wants to reach out, they can reach you guys. Exactly. If it’s an issue with the platform, if it’s a doubt they have or if it’s help they need, correct. What’s the creator and user experience like on Flimbo compared to other platforms? Very minimum. It’s not as aggressive as other platforms. I’ll elaborate. So the users, they have the one-click payment system with the infinite scroll feed. So what they do is the creator will post the content, again, divide the game into actions and the user will just one-click payment the buy and the content he wants to buy as much as close engagement as it gets. Interesting. Okay. And how about, how does that compare to other platforms? It’s not the constant need of being and having to update your content on a daily basis. It’s not being on top and answering the user or the creator. So it’s, again, no interaction whatsoever, no engagement whatsoever. The engagement minimum that the creator has with the user is the one-click payment which he purchases the bundle with the action they have. And that is about it. We keep the privacy very to a minimum, very much. And I know there’s got to be a story behind this. How did you come up with the name Flimbo? I’ll be completely honest with you, Bruce. I don’t smoke weed, but I did smoke weed that day. And you’re not going to believe this. There’s a bread brand in Spain called the Bimbo. And I just changed the BI for FLI and it just sounded and it clicked. I’m not the only one behind the idea, I’ll be honest with you, but it just sounded, it just clicked. So I went with it. How come you sound British as opposed to Spanish? Have you spent more time in the UK? Well, both my parents are from the UK. So I grew up here. My first language is English though by far. I’ll think in English, I’ll dream in English, I’ll have sex in English, I’ll do everything in English. So, yeah, yeah. It’s important what language you have sex in for sure. I agree. I haven’t learned Thai yet. So, I think that’s the only thing I know how to say the only thing I remember. That’s enough to get by here. I don’t know much more. I’ve lived here almost a quarter century and I haven’t bothered to learn. I have a Thai wife and she speaks perfect English. So yeah. Oh, love to do that. They do have good English. Makes life good. Makes life good. No, you’re good there, Bruce. Smart man, you are. I try. How does your platform ensure creators can earn money passively? So through our marketing campaigns that we promote like I said earlier and the cross-sharing, that’s mostly how they earn their income. The more they move, the more they post, the more they post content, the more they’ll sell, the more traffic they’ll have. Right. That makes perfect sense. How does your platform tackle things like privacy and security for both creators and users? Again, like with the most, it just uses encryption, like private profiles. It secures the transactions to protect creators and users, whether it’s by our payment processor and blocking the country that people don’t want their content being seen on and so on and so on. Okay. Give me the long-term plan for Flimbo. So Flimbo, and this is very dear to my heart, Bruce, I’ve got to say, at the Flimbo HQ, we have a team that I cannot even begin how to start thanking them till this day that I’ve been with me, every single one of them has been with me since the beginning. We have people from all over the world. We have programmers from Spain, Argentina. We’ve got a marketing group from Colombia, Peru, Brazil, UK myself. So it’s a lovely, lovely mix of personalities we have. And what do I see next? Bruce, I’m sorry to say, you’re just going to have to wait and see that. But keep in mind that it’s going to be a revolutionary change for all the adult content creation on their platform. Okay. Where are you guys based, by the way? We’re in Barcelona. You are in Barcelona. Great city, Matt. Great city. I love Barcelona. And I have absolutely nothing to say. There is not one day I’ll walk around Barcelona and do not learn something new. How widespread is Flimbo’s reach? Are you guys like all over the world? We work globally, correct. Most of our creators are, we have American creators, we have South American creators, we have European creators, we have Asian creators, we have Australian creators as well. Okay. What areas do you guys emphasize? Is it more North America right now? Correct. North America, Canada, Australia, UK are our top countries mostly because our users. So that’s what we mostly focus on. Where do you see your future growth being for the most part? I see Flimbo taking a turn for changing the adult content industry. Not making something new or being better than anyone else. Just trying to revolutionize and translate into a language that everyone will understand. That’s where I see it. Okay. Do you see like Latin America being a big future market for you? I see the whole world being a part of it, Bruce. Nice. What efforts are you guys taking to make sure that happens? Mostly at the moment, because we have creators from all over the world, we’re lucky on that sense. Any social media cross-sharing already makes noise. Any digital marketing campaign we make already makes noise. And we just keep focusing on that really. We’re slowly building the pyramid from the bottom. Okay. So, if somebody wants to either become a creator or become a member, how do they go about it? It’s very simple. www.flimbo.com. Now you have the register as a creator or you have the register as a user. If you want to register as a creator, it’s very simple. You verify yourself through our personal verification system called VARIF. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. We moderate all the details, the selfies, all the pictures, all the IDs that is necessary. And with the user, it’s a bit different. What he’ll do is he’ll add a few of his details, card payment for transaction to be able to buy the flimbo coins in order to transact the actions of the games. And that’s about it, Bruce. It’s very simple. It’s a very simple process. Sounds good. Well, hey, Dan. I’d like to thank you for being our guest today on Adult Site Broker Talk. And I hope we’ll get a chance to do this again soon. You can give me an update. Bruce, it was an absolute pleasure. Thank you very much for your time. Thank you. My broker tip today is part seven of how to buy a site. Last week we talked about the agreement and escrow. So now you own the website. What do you do now? The first thing you should do is make sure you understand everything about the operation of the site. The previous owner will hopefully be available for a period of time to help you with this. As I mentioned last week, you should establish what the former owner’s participation will be after the sale. You’ll need to deal with production of new content, processing, paying affiliates, and many other things. If you don’t have experience in these areas, you may want to consider using our general consulting firm, Adult Business Consulting. You can get more information on what this company does at adultbusinessconsulting.com. We help website owners project manage and guide them to the right vendors. Maybe the previous owner had all the right elements, processing, hosting, payments, production, scripts, etc. Or maybe they didn’t. We can help evaluate that for you. Let us know if we can help. Anyway, you’ll now be operating the website. If you don’t have someone like our general consulting firm to help, evaluate all of those items and everything the site is spending money on and using to operate the site. Make sure you’re getting a good deal and that these companies are providing the right service and check to see if you can do better. Hosting is a great example on something where people are often both overpaying and not getting the right service. Many times the server is just too slow. If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to reach out to us on our site. Next week we’ll talk about how to sell a website. And next week we’ll be speaking with Alan X of Alan X Films. And that’s it for this week’s Adult Site Broker Talk. I’d once again like to thank my guest, Dan Malachi of Flinbo. Talk to you again next week on Adult Site Broker Talk. I’m Bruce Friedman.
